4 Months Later....

Alright everyone! It is time to give an update! I cannot believe my last post was about how Beau will be coming home. I read it just now and laughed to myself because it has now been 4 and 1/2 months since he has been home.
Beau came home early November. I tried to imagine what it would be like again when i first saw him. Well....let me tell you what happened. He arrived in Salt Lake City later at night. I did not go to the airport because he was not released yet. I live on Canyon Road, a main road and a road that is used to get back to the Healey's residence. I had Simone, his younger sister text me when they were in the car coming back to Provo. It was about 11:00 at night. My family was all up and I had a couple of my friends over. I wasn't planning on seeing Beau "for real" until the next day, Thursday. BUT the reason I say "for real" is that his family and I thought it would be fun if they drive by my house on their way and wave to us in the car. His mom said they wouldn't slow down or anything. It would just be a quick glance. I agreed. I would take what I could get. Knowing that he was in the same state was killing me! His sister text me and said, "we are 10 minutes away, so be watching." All my family gathered outside along with my friends and I. So here we have, on Canyon Road, a big huge group waiting with anticipation and excitement!! I was seriously flippin out! I didn't even know what to do with myself. The trillion emotions that I was feeling inside were overflowing. My body was definitely reacting. I was jumping and dancing around in the street. I would randomly scream for joy or start hyperventilating. I couldn't believe that his car would be passing me WITH HIM IN IT! There were no cars because normal people were sleeping on a weekday. Every headlights we saw my heart would start skipping a beat! There were many cars that we thought were them but then they just passed us. It made the anticipation even worse! I almost couldn't contain myself! I wanted to laugh, cry, scream, dance, run, etc. THEN we saw a car coming from the long distance of the road. When the car was passing Days Market, the headlights started flashing...that is when i knew it was Beau. I remember the car coming up to our house and Beau's window was rolled down sticking his head out smiling and waving. At the moment I saw his face, I started running up and down the street and through my front yard. I started running in circles and screaming and I couldn't breathe or think! I couldn't stop my body. I just kept running in circles and around everywhere! The car had passed, but to my surprise when I was frantically screaming and running, they had done a u turn and passed us again the opposite direction. I did not know they had done that! I thought they had passed us and were long gone! But of course I look and I see them all laughing in the car at my uncontrollable body running all over the place and my trillion emotions going in all directions. !!!! Then they very slowly came around again (since it was late and there were no cars) and there he was. I was just now staring at him while everyone was kind of talking. I just couldn't believe it. After they had left, I was smiling and almost crying at the same time. I was so excited to see him the next day when he would be released and I could hug him!
Alright, there is the story of when he came home. 4 months later......
We are engaged!!!
It has been fun to have him home! Although, it was not an easy transition for either of us. It has been 4 months and you all may think that is very fast. BUT it has seemed like a lot longer. We have gotten to know each other again in a completely different light. Times get hard and it has been a rough road, but Beau and I have become closer because of it. I have been sick most of the time he has been home and finally found out I had mono. It all made sense why I was SO wiped out all the time and just couldn't feel energy to do things. It has put a damper on my personality because I haven't physically had energy to do many things. Also, it has definitely made our relationship take a different path. Beau has been so patient and loving through it all. He has seen me in BAD moods a lot of the times and still cares for me. It is nice to see each other in a different light. I KNOW he will be a great husband and father! I know I am so blessed to have him be my soon to be husband for all eternity.
The STORY:
March 4.
It was late at night around 10:00. It was a winter wonderland outside. We were in his dad's truck driving around and he parked in front of the Provo Courthouse. I was kind of scared and confused because it was late and I knew the courthouse was closed. Beau took my hand and lead me to the stairs. Then he said, "wait here for a minute." He went off to the side and got on his phone and I heard him say, "can you come open the door?" In my mind I thought, "Who has he hooked up with to get them to open the door for us?" So we walk up the stairs and a security guard comes and opens the door and immediately turns around and walks away. Not one word from him. Beau and I were the only ones there except for the guy mopping the floor. We took a tour of the beautiful building. Then Beau went and got 2 folding chairs and lead me to a piano. He set up the chairs in front of it and we both sat down. He then started playing, Everything I Do, by Bryan Adams. It was played beautifully and he even sang a little bit. I thought it was so cute of him to be doing this for me. I had a huge smile on my face, but at the same time I was holding back a few tears. After he finished his song on the piano he stood up and came directly to me. He then got down on one knee and took out a red box. (You dream of this moment your whole life! I couldn't believe it was happening to me.) He started out by saying, "Wow. This is really scary." haha and I totally agreed! I was nervous! Beau then said, "Christina McCarlie....I love you....I want to be with you forever....gave his speech of love...will you marry me? I said, "I will." Then he put the ring on my finger and we hugged for a long time. So many emotions and thoughts were running through my heart and mind. My face was in his shoulder and then unexpectedly, I started to weep. I cried and couldn't stop. I felt so much gratitude and the spirit so strong. I kept saying over and over in my head, "Thank you Heavenly Father, Thank you." It felt so right and so good. It was a wonderful moment we shared and a wonderful night.
Now we are getting married May 28, 2010! It is exciting!

The Time is Ticking

Today is November 1, 2009. Can it really already be November? The time truly flies by as you get older and busier. It is November 2009. I don't think I can grasp onto the thought that something wonderful, amazing, and truly incredible is going to happen to me soon. Soon, meaning, in literally 10 days. Something I have been waiting for. Something that seemed too far away 2 years ago. Something that still doesn't seem real. Something I have missed and won't even realize how much until I the day it comes to life again. Something that was tearful and painful, even though I don't like to admit it sometimes. Something that was truly hard for me to let go. That something is the return and reuniting with my best friend and love, Beau Healey.
The happiest things make you the saddest. It was the hardest thing to see him leave with knowing I wouldn't see him for two years. It was a difficult adjustment to get used to life without him near me. I had to learn to live life without him physically with me even though he was in my thoughts and prayers constantly. 2 years is a very long time. I can say that so much has happened these last two years and it is hard to believe that Beau has been gone that long. It has been a very long time since I have seen him face to face. Since I looked into his eyes. Since I saw his smile. Since I heard his laugh. Since I have felt his arms embrace me. It is all sometimes hard to remember clearly. Separation does that. There is one thing I do know....the minute I see him again, everything about him and the way I feel about him will all come rushing back to me more clearly than ever.We have both grown and have walked our own paths, but we have never let each other go. Our friendship is too great. Our love and care for each other is too great. There is no way I could let him pass me by. I am still here for a reason and I am giving us a chance when he gets home. He is amazing and has not compared to any other guy who has crossed my path in these 2 years.
I like to think of scenarios of how it will be when we see each other again. Will we run to each other and hold on to each other as tight as we can. Will we cry? Will I have a huge smile on my face and just run to his arms? Will it be awkward? Or will I scream, laugh, and cry all at the same time? I don't know.
I don't know what to expect really. The future can only tell. I don't think I can imagine the way I am going to feel. It is too great. I will see my best friend again. I will know that it was all worth it because of the joy we will both experience. The joy that I am going to feel in the next week and a half is something I look forward to. It has been 2 years. This is a time I never thought would come so soon. I am more than ready to see Beau again. I guess we will find out what happens.

I loved being with Beau. He was my best friend. He was the one I would give my everday news. We went through a lot together and grew to know each other. We were with each other through the good and bad. We laughed our heads off. We were able to talk about serious things and have deep conversation. I was completely 100% around him, which includes being outrageously crazy and I knew he would still love me for me. I loved the way he laughed when he thought I was being ridiculous. I loved his thoughfulness and genuine care for me. I loved how he teased me. No matter what we would be doing, I was content and happy because I was with him.

This hike was amazing! We woke up at 4 am to go hiking up Timp Mountain. It was a long, well earned, and fun hike! My body ached, but it was an amazing feeling. I felt so accomplished!

For Every Ending, There Is A New Beginning

What an incredible year 2009 has been so far! I start back on the 1st of January when I was on a plane heading for Hawaii. I was alone going to a place I had never known with people I did not know. What was I to expect? I remember feeling a great amount of excitement that filled my body from head to toe, but at the same time, feeling a masked nervous fear. I did not know what I was in for, but I knew I was doing what I felt was best for me at the time. I didn't know that my life would never be the same. I am deeply and eternally grateful for the adventure my decisions have led me. I have been very blessed to be able to meet the people I did and build relationships that will last forever. BYU-Hawaii and the island of Oahu will always have a special spot in my heart. My feelings are tender and my heart is full when I think of the island, the places, the people, and the experiences I had there. It is all unforgettable and I will always cherish that in my heart for "always and all eternity." (Kendall, that is for you. Madame Zeroni haha) My perspective changed on how I see the world, people, my family, and the gospel. My outlook is deeper and I learned a lot about life. I can say without hesistaion that Hawaii was the right thing for me at the right time.
I loved working at the Polynesian Culture Center, meeting all kinds of people from around the world, I loved all the fun and funny adventures my friends and I had, the caf, the bus, walking everywhere, spiders, Lost, garbage truck in the morning,skydiving, waikiki, dole whip, beach, surfing, hiking, shark diving, driving in a car, gilmore girls, wandering around the dorms, turtle bay, LOUD accent, pool showers due to the drains that were clogged, alarms, getting fined, chocolate cake bed, frogs, being kissed by a brazilian, our cardboard box we lived in, and my roommate and now best friend for life, Kendall. I would not have been able to do it without her. We did not have family or anyone to depend on there so we had to depend on each other. We became very close and I know it wasn't coincidence.We knew each other in high school, but weren't super tight or anything. We happened to get accepted at the same time for Winter Semester and I know it was no accident that it worked out that we were able to go together and be roommates. I will never forget the great times and all the people we met.
After I got home April 11th from Hawaii, I had one week to be home, until I would pack up and leave to Rexburg, Idaho! I remember crying and getting very emotionally while leaving Hawaii. BUT when I saw my family come pull up to pick me up at the airport, I felt such an overwhelming happiness and gratitude in my heart. I remember hugging my mother as tight as I could. I missed my family very much and loved them, but at the same time, I was so grateful for my opportunity and adventure in Laie, HI. I was so happy to be home. Once I had a chance to sit down and relax, I realized that I didn't want to pack up and leave again for school. It was all way too fast and I wasn't sure if I was ready for another semester of school. I was going to Rexburg, a place I had never been before and this time, I was moving in an apartment of 5 complete stranger girls. I didn't know if I was ready for a change or transition that quickly. I had just returned from Hawaii, and had a wonderful time and wonderful relationships. I didn't know if I was ready for another big change. I didn't know if I really wanted it. I was happy and content.
I made up my mind that I wouldn't go to Idaho. One day before I was supposed to leave, after talking to my parents and praying, I started packing. It was a very hard thing to do. I did not necessarily want it, but felt like it was a risk I was supposed to take. Without risk in life, there is no gain. Let me tell you, IDAHO was on the opposite end of the spectrum compared to what I had just come from! I was in for an interesting ride.
We drove into Rexburg and I walked into my apartment, and it was all just very weird. The feeling was bizarre. My brother Michael was with me, and we both agreed on how bizarre we felt. The town was tiny and my roommates were not the most welcoming. I just wanted to turn back and go home. I cried that night and the first weekend of being there. It was definitely hard. I had great emotional mixed feelings the first week I was there. I was struggling the first couple of weeks wondering whether I should stay or not. Well....after all that battling in my head and trying to do what was best, I chose to stay, even though it wasn't the easiest thing. Usually the best things are not the easiest. That is true for this situation. It was such a great decision that I stayed! I can't express how much I grew to love my roommates and now my great friends that I will have my whole life. I ended up getting very close to them and we had many wonderful times together. I also met other people who were so great. I now love the sport, Racquetball because of the class I was taking there. I have a lot more knowledge on the guitar because of the class I took. I have such a great and deeper testimony of family history and why ancestors and temple work is so important. I went and was taught longboarding for my first time there and went multiple times. I gained a love for the beautiful Rexburg Temple that was located right across the street. I grew to love the green spacious fields and beauty all around us. I loved running there and soaking it all in. I can never forget our ice cream runs (my favorite: chunky monkey), our smack downs, Fallin For Ya (dancing in the kitchen: mainly Carissa saw that haha), Cafe Rio Runs to IF, Maurie needing her inhaler because she couldn't breathe in the car while I was doing the plunger, all our funny conversations and just everyday moments. I loved Maurie's ghetto quilt that hung up on the wall. I loved all of them so so so much. I will never forget all the names for Bree and all the things you can do with her name: Boo-Bree, Honey-Bree, Bree In Bree Out, A, Bree, C..., etc. Maurie and her kindness and willingness to serve and her genuine character, Mikaela and how she is sensual and is just sexy without knowing it haha, Carissa (Tapanga) and how I love her so much-just everything is so funny to me-we are both just super crazy together. Kelsey for just being Kelsey. Her humor is one of a kind. All or you girls know what I am talking about. ha
Leaving Idaho was a sad goodbye for me. It was hard to leave everyone. I became so close with all of them. I love you girls!
I have been so blessed to meet such great people who have changed my life. I have definitely had the college experience. It is such a great time in life. I would not trade it for anything.
For every ending, there is a new beginning. I am home again, trying to find a job. It is a new beginning for me. So much will happen this next semester and I am excited.

We went golfing last night at The Riot Zone. It was a Riot! Kasey, in particular, loved that joke. We had a really good time! It was a funny round of 18 holes. And who came out on top? The LADIES!!! Maurie and I got a hole in one!! YEAH BABY! Anyway, we had a hilarious time. Afterwards, Kasey and Kyle went on this ride called the Buckaroo!!! OH So funny! It was the most ridiculous funny ride I have ever seen.

So this guy Tyler invited us to go to his cousin's house in Idaho Falls to go swimming in his indoor pool. Of course we went! The weather outside was stormy so why not make it feel like summer? haha A bunch of people were there and we played pool volleyball, hopped in the hot tub and jacuzzi, played on the slide and diving board. It was SO much fun! I still can't believe it, but I did the "plunger" (my ugly dance move) on the diving board. We jetted off the slide a few times which was really fun! We all had a blast and had some good laughs. OH yeah, and we went into the sauna and Carissa and I had to run out because we couldn't breathe in there! It was an awesome night! Afterwards, we went and got ice cream at 11:30 at night. I got my favorite Ben and Jerry's: Chuncky Monkey. We were driving home when I saw these huge sprinklers that I wanted to run through, so Maurie turns the car around, and Dave and I got out and ran through them. haha it was fun.

So a big group of us went to Mesa Falls to hike! It is about an hour away from Rexburg. It was absolutely gorgeous! The weather was perfect. The trees and the waterfalls were amazing. My love for Idaho is growing each day. The summer here is gorgeous. It is such a relaxing small town feel and I love it. The hike was a lot of fun. I love being outdoors! These Falls were HUGE compared to some other Falls I have hiked to. I loved this too because you will be driving and there are just fields as far as you can see. They are endless. How could there ever be a waterfall? Then you take a turn and all of the sudden you are driving up this valley/canyon of beautiful tall trees! It is awesome.

Longboarding!!!

Okay, so Friday night this guy Tyler who is in my ward invited me to go play tennis with him. We both love tennis so it was really fun. Afterwards, we had a BBQ which is always awesome. You can't go wrong with a BBQ. Tyler then asked me, "You want to go longboarding? I have a longboard." OKAY PAUSE: I have always had a huge fear to go longboarding because I have heard bad accident stories and I am scared to break any bone after I broke my wrist really bad in a rollarblading excursion. PLUS I love rollarblading and I was content with that. But mostly I have never wanted to go or had a desire to go because I had a huge fear to get on a longboard.
So with that being said, of course my reaction was not that enthusiastic. I did not want to go and was really scared. I told him that, but he assured me that I would be okay and that he would teach me. He said I would love it and I was easily persuaded into it. We got the longboards and took off. I was actually secretly excited, but super nervous! We got to the church parking lot that is on a gradual hill by the prettiest green fields. It was beautiful and it was such a gorgeous evening! Okay, when I first got on that board, Tyler was guiding me by taking my hand and pulling me in the directions that I would need to go. He was so patient with me. I was so surprised of how great a trainer he was! He took it really slow until I got a good feel for it and until I was comfortable. He let me go for just a split second and said, "Okay, don't panic." and of course I screamed as I was crusing, "I AM PANICKING!" haha so he stopped me. He said, "Don't worry, I won't let you get hurt." He had to catch me a few times. haha but after just about 20 minutes, I was feeling so much more comfortable and I could finally glide on the board without his help! The feeling was AMAZING! I was going down a gradual hill cutting and turning! It was awesome! I loved the feeling! It was so fun!!!! I fell in love with it already. I kept saying, "Just one more time." (but of course, just kept going) He was just laughing. The group that we were with before came and one of the guys couldn't believe I was already riding the board. haha Tyler did such a great job at training me. I can't wait to go again! These are kind of lame pictures, but I will have to get some other ones when I go again...because I want to go again so bad. It is so fun! I definitely love just cruising and gliding. I am not the type that needs to go on huge hills and have a show. I just want to have fun and be smart about it. It was a really fun night. I am truly loving Idaho.

Tonight seriously made me hurt. I was laughing so hard. My roommates and I are crazy. We were so hyper, as usual. Bree gets super scared when someone will come up to her and do the "raptor." At the beginning of the video you can see her screaming. We had already been being crazy for awhile before the camera went on. She was absolutely frigtened. It is the funniest thing because she is so serious. This is a little taste of what it is like behind doors at apt 403.

The Rexburg Temple

I live right across this beauty. I am reminded of it everyday. I feel grateful to live so close. I finally got a recommend and went there on Friday for my first time. It is gorgeous inside and I am looking forward to going there every week this semester.

So a guy came over yesterday and gave us a huge box of potatoes. His family owns a potatoe farm. So now we have these delicious massive true Idaho potatoes to eat all up. We are just going to have fun and make every form of potatoe we can throughtout the semester.

Then there is a picture of 2 of my roommates and I. There is Maurie (blonde hair) and Carissa (the other one that is not me) My roommates are great. They are very nice and I think we will have some good times this semester.

Idaho is definitely a different place than what I am used to. I can't say that I like it or don't like it yet. I only have the right to say that at the end of the semester. I will give it a fair chance. There have been some cool people that I have met. I seriously don't know where this semester will take me. It will be interesting to see what happens. The transition that so quickly happened from Hawaii to here was drastic and I am still trying to recover I think. It has been hard, but I know I will grow in many ways here. The one thing I love most about Rexburg is the temple here. It is absolutely gorgeous and I am reminded of the temple everyday because you can see it from every direction so clearly. It is on a hill and I live right across the street from it. I am excited to go every week. I am so grateful for the temple.

It is Katy's celebration of birth today. She is such a great sister and person. Let me acknowledge some of Katy's qualities and abilities I admire:
-Katy can COOK! She can bake! She is really good in the kitchen. She makes delicious food out of whatever she has and it is my job to eat it.
-Katy is very creative. She has a good taste of design and look. She can turn a plain and "blah" thing into something colorful and beautiful! Her house tells you that she can do that well. It is such a cozy and welcoming home.
-She has a good heart. She will call and try to stay in touch and see how things are going. She loves her family.
-She is a lot of FUN, especially if you get her on her crazy streak...it is so hilarious when all of us get on our laughing spell and crazy streak :) It is quite hilarious

After the PCC, Kendall and I ran into some friends, and we headed towards North Shore to go get some good food at a Shrimp and Steak Shack/Bus. We had to cramp in the car if you couldn't tell.

On Friday night, Kendall and I went to the night show at the PCC! It was really cool. My friend Seth, who I work with, hooked us up with some Pineapple Delights. I really loved the show. Different cultures are fascinating.

We all went on a fun hike to Malaekahana Falls! It was such a muddy and treacherous hike, but we had SO much fun! We all jumped off a good 17 or 18 ft. waterfall! I have never jumped off something that high before and it was seriously scary, but I did it and it rocked!

I am writing in my journal about the weekend...I am still in the process because there were SO many details and hilarious things that happened to us! We got a hotel for the weekend in Waikiki and it was a hoot! We had a lot of fun eating, beaching it, and shopping. Girls nights are the best! It was a hilarious and adventurous trip! FUN in the Sun

I LOVE Hawaii!
First of all, Hawaii=beautiful. Second of all, this last week was SO fun! There was lots of sunshine which =FUN. Third of all, we do crazy things here and I ask myself if I am really thinking clearly, but everything I do ends up to be awesome and the best memories that I will treasure forever.
No one lives like this. This is such a unique experience living here in Hawaii. Everything has been so different than what I am used to. It has been wonderful! I laugh so hard when I think about it because I can’t even explain how hilarious and crazy the style of living we have. I will never have a time in life again like this. We ride the bus, sleep in the sand that is in our beds, devour good food if there is any left because the “caf” food is not anywhere near normal food, we PLAY hard, go sky diving, shark swimming, don’t get ready ever, walk everywhere, etc. Our dorms are an adventure alone and the girls here are awesome. The diversity is incredible. It will feel weird to go back and actually be part of the majority. We have just had an awesome experience so far.
On Friday Kendall, Britnee, and I went to the beach and to the Point! It was absolutely gorgeous and I couldn’t believe I lived in what I was seeing. The waves were so mega huge and there were huge explosions when they hit the rocks. It was like a firework show in water form! We had so much fun just orchestrating the explosions and taking pictures.
Saturday, a group of us went on an adventure with the sharks. We all hopped on a boat and we drove far far into the deep ocean in the middle of who knows where…actually in the middle of man eaters also known as sharks. When we were on the boat, the swells were just HUGE! I was loving it. Alecia, Lizzy, and I were just having a thrill. Kendall, Cody, Britnee, Hayley, and Rachelle were group 1 and were going to go in the cage first. Alecia, Lizzy, Maresha, Aaron, and I were group 2. Watching the other group go in first and sitting on the boat in one spot kind of made me feel seasick and that is when true fear struck my heart. I have never felt as much fear as I felt at that moment. It was more scary than sky diving to me. Eventually, group 1 came back and it was our turn. My mental power took over. I was not scared, but instead, I felt brave. I was the first one in the cage and I felt great! I was ready! Everyone got in and we were pushed out. I was loving it! I saw at least 6 sharks. It was really cool. I would jump out of the water and shout, “This is awesome!...or this Rocks!” I felt accomplished! When I got out of the cage, I felt on top of the world! It was first, so awesome to be under the water with the sharks and second, I overcame a strong fear that I felt! I got on the boat and just a little after, I had to throw up. I threw up in the ocean three times, but it felt so good to get it out! It wasn’t even a bad experience at all. I was still smiling and laughing. Alecia told me that she had never seen someone still laughing after they had just thrown up, but I felt great! It just needed to come out. It was quite an adventure. Afterwards, we all went to go eat at Pizza Bob’s and I had a delicious piece of yumminess. I had a chicken California club and oh, it was good! We all had fun just eating and walking around different shops and things.

My family's good friends, Paul and Sarah, were here in Oahu and I happened to be able to hook them up. It was a lot of fun to see them and to have people I know here with me! It is such a fun job and only a job you would have in Hawaii! I love it!

I forgot to update these events! First of all, we went surfing a few weeks back. It was a windy and choppy day. It was so cool to be able to try it out, but it was SO hard. I think I could get it down if it wasn't such a windy day and now that I know what to kind of expect, I can handle it. It was really fun though!

And of course I have to let you all know that Kendall and I made a long trip to Wal-Mart to go get HSM3! We watched it that very night and were very happy inside. I seriously am in love with that movie. I own it so now my life is complete...okay not really, but you know how happy I am.

6 Things I Love

Okay, I was tagged!
I get to take this opportunity and let you know of 6 things that I love! That is kind of hard because this life brings a plethera of things that I love, but I will try to pick and choose.

1. First of all, I LOVE my family. I have the greatest family ever. I love having a big family and I wouldn't have it any other way. I have the greatest and sweetest parents ever. They love me so much and have done so much for me and I will always be indebted to them. They have made it possible for me to have the great opportunities I have had in my life, including coming here to Hawaii. I have the most rocking awesome siblings. I have the best big brothers that I look up to so much. My sisters have been such a great support and influence in my life. It is so fun to have sisters. We have girl talk and we can relate to each other. And to my little brothers who I love so much...Tommy and Beau, I love you guys and I am so glad that we are so close! We have so much fun and laugh together so much! I couldn't ask for better little brothers. You guys are so the best ever.

2. I love that I have the gospel in my life. I have no idea where I would be without it.

3. I love taking a shower, getting into clean pj's, having smooth shaven legs, and getting into clean sheets! OH what a wonderful thing.

4. I love to laugh so hard to the point where my eyes are crying and every ounce of my body hurts except for my heart...my heart just is filled with pure joy.

5. I love smiles, teeth, and big lips. I love dental flossing. I love beautiful smiles.

6. I love the good exhausting feeling. Having an active adventurous day that was filled with so much exciting stuff, but when you get home, taking a shower and snuggling in your softest blanket with HSM3/or any favorite movie playing, is the best feeling in the world!

I went SKY DIVING!! –February 21, 2009
I wake up, it is Saturday February 21, 2009, but it wasn’t any ordinary day. I lay in my bed awake, trying to get emotionally and mentally prepared to conquer and fight the monsters that I would be surrounded by. I was ready and thrilled to conquer the beasts of the sea that I would hang out with-yes, that is right-Sharks. Some girls and I reserved 10 spots to go on a shark endeavor at noon. We reserved spots a week in advance and had been anticipating this exciting and slightly scary adventure all week long! We were all very excited to go together and be in a cage screaming and do what girls do when sharks are ready to eat them.
Kendall and I got out of bed and got ready. We slipped on our swimsuits and gathered all of our items and things we would need. We were ready to go to breakfast and meet up with our girls when I heard my phone vibrate. It was Alecia, our girlfriend who was in charge of this, and it was bad news. The text read: “ Sad news. The shark thing was cancelled due to weather.” I told Kendall and Alecia heard me talking to Kendall about it because she lives just one unit over. Alecia shouted, “Christina.” And I said, “Alecia.” We went to Alecia’s room and we all just had such deep disappointment. Alecia was angry and Lizzy was so heartbroken. The rest of us felt the same as well. It was cancelled due to weather! Ugh. We were anticipating this and we were so excited. Now what we were supposed to do? We were too deep in the pits of depression to even want to do anything else. We decided we would go eat breakfast and talk it over food. Food always brings a happier aroma in the air. Am I right? Plus, I ate granola cereal (I am in love with granola). We talked and talked. Our friend Maresha said she had friends going sky diving that day….lets freeze for a moment-----
SKY DIVING! I have wanted to go sky diving for the longest time! It has been something on my list of things to do before I die. Not only that, but I have only wanted to go sky diving in Hawaii. I would say to people that I only wanted to sky dive in Hawaii because I wanted to fly over beautiful scenery. I said if I ever go sky diving, it would only be in Hawaii. Well when I figured out that I was going to BYUH, I knew it was my opportunity------
We immediately shifted gears and talked about sky diving! Maresha didn’t know details about the group or where the sky dive place was. We all gathered in my dorm room and Kendall was shouting out different sky diving places numbers while we frantically dialed on our phones. While we were doing that, Maresha was trying to get details. She finally found out the name of the place this group was going. The only details we knew was that it was called Skydive Hawaii and that this group was going at 2, but she couldn’t find out any more details because the girl in charge was taking in a test. I called Skydive Hawaii and this Chinese woman answered. I asked her where they were located and all of the details. I asked her if we could get in that day. She told me, “we are very very busy today, but I could schedule you guys for tomorrow.” That wasn’t going to work for me so….I said, “Well there is a group that we are with that was reserved for today at 2:00 and we wanted to know if we could add more people?” She said, “There is a group of 11 under the name Chris and they are BYUH students….is that who you are with?” We had no idea who Chris was and we probably didn’t know anyone in the group, but we said, “Yes! That is the group we are with.” She asked, “How many would you like to add ?” and I responded, “Six people.” She was surprised because that was a lot. She told me the only way that would work if we had our own car to get there because her van could only fit 14 people. That was a problem. None of us had cars. We only had so little time to get there so we needed to find a car fast. We called and called people, trying to get people to come who had a car. NO ONE could go. We tried and tried to figure out all these details in so little time, but nothing was working. Finally, after a while everyone said we should just do it another time. I wouldn’t take NO for an answer. We were going SKY DIVING! I did not give up hope. At the last minute, Lizzy, got a call from a friend named Kyle, who had a car and he was able and wanted to go!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! We packed up and Kyle came and picked us up. We were on our way to go sky dive. None of us really believed it because nothing was working out smoothly at all-PLUS-we were basically sneaking into a group who probably had made reservations a month in advance and they didn’t even know they had 6 little creepers crawling around. We got there earlier than 2 o’clock on purpose-it was all a part of our sneaky plan-so that maybe if we got there before the rest of the group, we would be able to go first. What do you know? The lady asked us about the rest of the group, but we just made up answers like, “we don’t know where they are...we came separately.” So she said, “Well that means we will have you guys go first.” Just as planned. We got there and signed paperwork that said, “You are voluntarily choosing to risk your life with severe injury or death.” No big deal…we all signed and immediately they took us out. Yes, that is right, we watched no video and had no training whatsoever when usually you do some training and instruction. We were getting into our harnesses and that is when we could believe it. OH MY! All of the sudden, we were going sky diving! YES BABY! We worked the system. They didn’t even know we had planned this like 2 hours before.
We were on our way to the sky! I was so flippin happy and excited! My dream was coming true! We had the funniest camera guy, who was from Germany, and my instructor was really chill and really cool. I loved the group we were with and I love all the girls I have met here, they are awesome! We all packed and squashed in the little plane and flew up all the way to 13,500 ft high. It was absolutely beautiful with the green hills and blue ocean underneath me. We were all freaking out, but loving it! Sasha, our camera guy kept opening the plexiglass door just to scare us, but it worked on me! I would be falling out of that in a matter of seconds! My instructor and I were sitting right next to the door on the ground of the plane. I was fREAking out!!! OHHHH I was so thrilled, but so nervous! I can’t believe I was just going to fall out of the plane. There I was with the door opened and I was on the edge of it. OH MY FREAKING HECK! In a blink of an eye, I jumped out. I can’t express the sensation that I felt. The pressure was incredible. We were going 120 mph and my little body was taking it. My skin was flopping off my body. Everything my instructor told me to do, I FORGOT! I was not thinking clearly. I was supposed to put the have my legs together and put the heels of my feet on my booty, but did I do that? NO! Instead, my legs were flangling and sprawled out every which way! I think it was dangerous, but soon enough my instructor locked my legs with his. It is actually pretty funny in the video though, I am not gonna lie. I was free falling at such a high speed with such intense power and pressure, it was ridiculous. Then, I remember vividly going through the clouds and feeling really cold along with the pressure. The clouds brought so much moisture and I FELT it! I was freezing for that cloudy moment. After that, my parachute shot out and I was flying with pleasure over the beautiful green hills and ocean. The feeling I felt was insane. It was gorgeous. After 2 minutes or so, we landed very gracefully. I was once again on the ground. WOAH!!! What a ride?!!! We were all pretty stoked! It was pure AWESOMENESS!!!! I LOVED it! I loved loved loved it. It was such a thrill. It was so surreal, but I remember the feeling so vividly. It is something I can’t describe fully.
I am SO SO SO happy I got pictures and the video! I can always remember this awesome experience and how cool it was. I can show my future posterity and all my family and friends. I think everyone will get a kick out of the video. It is pretty funny. I was the one who went first in the plane and all my friends told me they would not ever forget my face when I jumped out.
We woke up thinking we were going to hang out with sharks, but obviously things can take a 180 turn in a heartbeat. Instead, we hung out with the birds.

Kendall and I have a handshake. Yep, that is right. We didn't even
spend forever making it up. It just came more naturally. We bust out
the moves whenever we are feeling like it. We may be in the street
while soaking wet from the rain, eating, or just talking. Yeah, it is

We Got Laid!!!!

I am so grateful that I am able to work at the PCC. It is such a once in a lifetime experience. I work in the luau selling tropical smoothies that come in a real pineapple shell. This video is where I work. I was going around the tables when I saw David Archuleta himself sitting there. I stopped breathing. I am in love with him and his voice. Well I was able to get a good stare at him for an hour. I kept walking pass his table and just watched him smile. He got a text a couple of times. haha OH I love his smile. Well Uncle Benny, the MC of the show, called David to come up on stage and sing! David Archuleta performed live in the luau! It was incredible! I was SO happy and I absolutley loved it. I just live in Hawaii and work at the PCC! It is such a great opportunity. The environment is 100% Hawaiian and I won't ever get to do this again. It was an awesome performance and he sounded amazing and it was the best day at work ever.

Kelly Clarkson is definitely one who I love belting to! I love having belting sessions. This song, My Life Would Suck Without You, is one of my new favorites. I have listened to it and liked it a ton, but than I watched the video and that did it for me! I am in love with it!!! This video made the top of my list of favorite music videos! Usually music videos ruin the song and that is why I don't usually watch them, but this one made the song better. I love that it depicts and captures a relationship. It won't always be perfect, but there is no way you can live without them. Enjoy!

FOOD FEST!!!!

So our school puts on this Food Fest event. Many countries serve their authentic foods and you go around and try what you want. It was so cool because I felt like I was at an extravaganza of some sort. Everyone comes and participates. A lot of the local families come. We tried some chinese food and Fijian food. The chinese stick of meat was the HOTTEST thing I have ever tried! My lip was on fire! It was good, but my mouth and lip were on a flame! The chinese people were laughing at me. haha but they were fun and cool to talk to. I LOVE the ethnicity out here. I really do.
